The Glendale Educational Foundation (GEF) is presenting the 15th Annual State of the Schools Breakfast to showcase the accomplishments of the Glendale Unified School District (GUSD). The breakfast will be held today, Oct. 3, at the Glendale Civic Auditorium, 1401 N. Verdugo Road, at 7 a.m.
Educational Excellence Awards will be presented to the Glendale teacher of the year Suzanne McDonnell from Jefferson Elementary School and Hutchinson & Bloodgood LLP for their continued support of GEF.
The focus is Visual and Performing Arts, with this year’s theme being “Music Matters” that will support music programs for GUSD secondary schools (middle and high school).
This year the Rosemont Chamber Ensemble will perform during the morning networking. Student Sosie Haboian, a Glendale High School sophomore, will sing the “Star Spangled Banner” and closing the event will be the outstanding Crescenta Valley High School Marching Band.

Glendale Educational Foundation is celebrating 15 years of increasing support for GUSD in its three areas of focus – visual and performing arts, health & fitness and science & technology. To date, over $3,300,000 has been donated to GUSD.
