Sept. 20
2800 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a backpack was stolen from the library.  According to the CV Sheriff’s report, the backpack was left on the floor of the lounge area in the library when its owner had walked outside to take a phone call. When the owner returned the pack was gone. It was taken between 6:33 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
2800 block of Community in La Crescenta, a resident reported that someone had entered her home and stolen an iPod and digital camera between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Sept. 19
4600 block of Alta Cañada in La Cañada Flintridge, a global positioning system, an iPod and cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.
Sept. 16
2900 Alabama Street in La Crescenta, the rear window of a vehicle was shattered overnight.
900 Flintridge Avenue in La Cañada, jewelry, cash and a laptop computer were stolen and several rooms ransacked at a home between 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Sept. 15
2800 block of Prospect Avenue in La Cañada, a 1996 white Chevy Suburban was stolen overnight.
2100 block of Verdugo Boulevard in Montrose, a 29-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested from driving under the influence at 12:15 a.m.
1900 block of Waltonia Avenue in Montrose, a 36-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested for being under the influence and suspicion of a narcotic.   The man reportedly walked up to deputies as they were tending to another matter and asked them what they were doing. He allegedly was unable to stand, had soiled clothing and was holding a bag with several pills.
Sept. 14
Foothill Boulevard and Ramsdell Avenue in La Crescenta, a 22-year-old Los Angeles was arrested for unlawful possession of a baton and unlawful possession of OC (Oleoresin Capsicum or pepper) spray. Deputies noticed the man wearing what appeared to be a security uniform complete with a black duty belt, baton, spray, radio and handcuffs. He was wearing a white polo shirt with “Security” printed on it but had no identification as to what security firm he was employed by. When deputies reportedly asked him for his security permit he told them he didn’t have one. He had a security badge but had no identification of proof of the security agency that issued the badge. He was arrested.  Deputies noted that there had been recent burglaries in the area committed with the aide of a “look out.” The deputies believe that the man could have been acting in a similar criminal capacity. The arrest was made at 1:30 p.m.
Sept. 13
Foothill Boulevard and Viro Road in La Cañada, a 25-year-old La Cañada man was arrested on driving under the influence and suspicion of possession of a narcotic at 6:45 p.m.
