Docent tour and Training at the Rosemont Preserve
Volunteers are needed to help give guided tours of the Rosemont Preserve and free field trips to local schools and community members. Those interested are invited to take part in a morning learning about the native plant and conservation curriculum and how to navigate the Preserve to best highlight all the natural resources in this outdoor classroom. This tour and training will be led by Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy intern, Liz Pleigo, on Sunday, Sept. 23 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Pleigo is studying for her master’s degree in environmental biology and will be sharing what she’s learned during her year long internship with AFC.
Bring questions about native plants and wildlife! Learn how to identify native plants and how they can be used for medicinal purposes. Learn how to track wildlife and recognize their scat.
The Preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave. Bring water, a hat and wear sturdy shoes to walk the trail.
