The Bobcat Fire reportedly covers 29,245 acres as of 1:30 p.m. Saturday; it is 6% contained. There are 765 firefighters who are working the fire presently. It continues to move northeast. There are evacuation warnings still in place for Pasadena, Monrovia, Bradbury and Duarte, which means they should be ready when and if an evacuation order is issued; however, there are no evacuation orders issued at this time in these areas.
This continues to be a terrain-driven fire and the cause is still under investigation.
According to the South Coast AQMD, local air quality is considered “very unhealthy” and the AQI is 227.
