Korean Armenian Festival Planned
The 3rd Annual Armenian Korean Festival is slated for Saturday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Crescenta Valley High School. The school quad will be the location of the festivities that promise to provide a fun-filled day for families and children. This year, the CV Latino community will also take part, making this festival an exceptional celebration of cultures, community and heritage.

Rosemont Preserve Restoration Day
The public is invited to the Rosemont Restoration Day on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. to help protect the natural habitat at the preserve. Volunteers will be tending to the new trees recently planted, gathering seeds for future propagation of various native species and cleaning up the entrance to the preserve.

Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes, comfortable clothes and garden gloves (long pants and sleeves are recommended). Those who have rakes or heavy brooms should bring them along. Other tools will be available.

The preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, please park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave.

This event is free to the public and suitable for all ages, no reservations required. Rain cancels event. Sorry, no pets please.

RUMMAGE AND ESTATE SALES THIS WEEKEND
The annual CV Sheriff’s Rummage Sale is Saturday, Sept. 13 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the sheriff’s station. Items for sale range from furniture and kids toys to antiques and electronics.

The Crescenta Valley Station is located on 4554 Briggs Ave. in La Crescenta.

The AIDS Service Center in Pasadena is having an estate sale also on Saturday from 8 a.m. 3 p.m. The ASC is located at 826 S. Los Roble.

DEADLINE APPROACHING FOR ‘BEYOND THE BOX’
The deadline for artists to submit an entry for the Montrose Beyond the Box mural project is Sept. 12. The project will take place on Oct. 25 when 11 city-owned utility boxes along Montrose and Honolulu avenues will be transformed into neighborhood art.
