Update Bobcat Fire as of 10:43 a.m.

The Bobcat Fire in the Angeles National Fire has burned 4,871 acres and is zero percent contained. The approach to fighting the fire transitioned to an incident management phase, which will bring more firefighters to help battle the blaze. Due to the number of fires throughout California, firefighting resources are limited.

“We do have firefighters (on scene) from Monrovia, Arcadia, Pasadena, Sierra Madre, and LA County,” said Andrew Mitchell, spokesman for the U.S. Forest Service.

On Sunday the fire was moving in a northerly direction, which threatened some structures in the Cogswell Dam area; however, it is expected that, due to winds, the fire will move in a southerly direction today, Monday and tomorrow, Tuesday, toward Monrovia. Structures will be threatened. The incident command leaders are analyzing the situation.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
