LA Fire Offers Update on La Tuna Fire

LA Fire has released a statement regarding the La Tuna Fire. As of 8 p.m. Saturday, approximately 800 personnel attacked the fire that spanned an official count of 5,800 acres. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Containment is at 10%. 
The 210 Freeway eastbound is closed at Wheatland and reopens at Lowell; the 210 westbound is closed at the 2 freeway and reopens at Osborne.

According to LA Fire, fire engines will go into neighborhoods to assess the situation then move on to another area. “No one is staying in one place the entire time.”

On Saturday night, the weather was partly cloudy with a low around 80 degrees. Wind from the southeast 5-10 mph.

GLENDALE: Glenwood Oaks Area- End of Boston Avenue – El Lado Dr., Cedarbend Dr., Tanbark Place, Ferntree Place, Beechglen Dr.; New York Ave. Area, Mountain Oaks Parks, Celita Way, Kadletz Rd.
BURBANK: Brace Canyon, Havenway, Viewcrest, Rolling Ridge, Reynolds, Mystic, Remy, Only Above Brace Canyon Park, Joaquin between Havenway and Brace Canyon, Lamer from Brace to Wedgewood
Hamlin to Groton down to Kenneth- EFFECTIVE 10 p.m., ALL EVACUATIONS LIFTED IN BURBANK ONLY

LA CITY McGroaty Terrace from Oro Vista to Plainview; Reverie Area- 1200 Alene Dr, to Hillhaven Ave, Reverie, Glen O Peace Parkway, Tranquil Dr., Inspiration Way, Tranquil Place, Hillhaven place; Haines Canyon Area- Charrick Drive, Charrick Place, Estepa Dr., Wexlord Dr.
Shadow Island Dr., Alene at Hillhaven.
GLENDALE: Whiting Wood Area, Whiting Woods Rd., Lockerbie Lane, Lockerbie Court, Hillway Dr., Mesa Lila Lane, Mesa Lila Road.
In LA City, three homes were burned; none in Glendale or Burbank.
Two firefighters were injured; both were transported for dehydration and are reported in stable condition.
Note that there was an incident involving an LAFD helicopter. During firefighting operations at the La Tuna Fire on the afternoon of Saturday, LAFD helicopter Fire 4 made a precautionary landing on the football field at Verdugo Hills High School. There were no injuries to LAFD members or anyone on the ground. The helicopter will be transported on Sunday via ground to LAFD air operations for inspections. No one was injured.
