900 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, an employee at a restaurant reported that three women entered the business, ordered meals and drinks. When the bill was presented they provided debit and credit cards to pay for their meals. The waitress advised them the credit card machine was broken and the three women reportedly became very upset and asked for a discount, which was denied. The women said they would go to an ATM machine to withdraw money, and left a black Visa debit card with the waitress. The three women did not return.
The incident occurred between 5:30 p.m. and 6:20 p.m.
3400 block of Brookhill Street in La Crescenta, a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle overnight.
Aug. 20
2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, an employee reported the alarm on the wine cellar case was activated at a store. While the employee was running toward the wine cellar he saw a man, wearing a white and blue long sleeve shirt and blue jeans, walking away from the area. The employee found the cellar door had been pried open and the locking mechanism was on the floor. He ran back to the front of the store and saw the man, who he had thought was suspicious, running across the parking lot and enter the passenger side of a blue Volkswagen Tiguan. The vehicle left the area. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect manipulating the wine cellar lock, opening the door and removing a bottle of champagne at 1:35 p.m.

3200 block of Big Tujunga Canyon Road in Tujunga, numerous tools and equipment were stolen from a property overnight.
