Stone Barn Vineyard Harvest
The moon may have cast a shadow on the vineyard but the last weeks of sunny skies have ripened the grapes to near perfection!
Come on up to the Deukmejian Wilderness Park in the mid-afternoon on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 3 p.m. and help pick and crush the grapes, prune the vines and enjoy the vineyard, refreshments and mingling with Stone Barn members.
Chances are it may be a bit warm so remember your hats; please also bring gloves and pruning shears or clippers and a bucket to gather the grapes to take to the crusher.

Native Plants of the Rosemont Preserve
All are invited on Aug. 26 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. when Cassy Aoyagi leads a native plant tour of the Preserve. Aoyagi is president of FormLA Landscaping. FormLA recently teamed up with volunteers at the Rosemont Preserve to replant a portion of the south slope prone to erosion. Bring all questions about native plants and how to nurture them.
The Preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, please park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave. Please bring water, a hat and wear sturdy shoes to walk the trail.

Lane Shift on Westbound Foothill Freeway I-210
Beginning the week of Sept. 11, the California Dept. of Transportation (Caltrans) will make temporary changes along westbound Foothill Freeway from Lincoln Avenue to Foothill Boulevard. Construction crews will restripe and shift lanes towards the median.
Both eastbound and westbound inner shoulders will be used as traffic lanes. The eastbound inner shoulder will become a temporary bypass lane for westbound traffic. A concrete barrier will separate the eastbound traffic and the westbound bypass lane for the safety of motorists. Two outer lanes on westbound I-210 will close as crews begin to replace the pavement along the freeway. The bypass lane allows all traffic lanes on westbound I-210 to remain open while work is underway, which will be in effect through spring 2018.
The temporary traffic lane shift and closures are part of a $148.5 million pavement rehabilitation project on I-210. Once the project is completed in 2018, the new surface will provide a smoother drive for motorists, reduce time required for maintenance, and minimize the need for further lane closures.
