4400 block of Commonwealth Avenue in La Cañada, golf clubs, sunglasses a car charger and other personal items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.
Aug. 6
2900 block of Henrietta Avenue in La Crescenta, as a resident was sitting in his living room watching television he heard the sound of a window breaking. He then heard a vehicle driving away. He noticed an egg had been thrown through his window. The man had an encounter with a group of males in the neighborhood a few days prior. He spoke to them and yelled at them about the noise they were making and then called the sheriffs. He thought one of the males had been arrested at the time and feels the vandalism was in retaliation.
The incident occurred at 10 p.m.
Aug. 3
5800 block of Freeman Avenue in La Crescenta, a resident reported that she found a letter on the hood of her vehicle that was held by a rock. The letter was printed on white paper and had a yellow smiley face with a Nazi symbol. She believed the letter and the vandalism were directed at her next door neighbor. The driver’s door of her vehicle was damaged and the gas cap stolen. The vehicle was covered with a lacquer-type substance on the cab, passenger door and hood. The windshield and hood appeared to have rocks and staples mixed with the substance. Neither the owner of the vehicle nor the neighbor knew of anyone who would want to damage the vehicle or cause them harm. Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the incident as a hate incident; it occurred overnight.
2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a driver’s and passenger’s side of a vehicle was vandalized with a key between 11:40 a.m. and 11:50 a.m.
2000 block of Verdugo Boulevard in Montrose, a 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and for possession of drug paraphernalia at 6:10 p.m.
July 30
1400 block of Descanso Drive in La Cañada, a resident reported he discovered what appeared to be a person/persons had been staying at his home while it was under remodeling due to mold. The homeowner found that several food items were missing and that whoever was at the home had used his sleeping bag. He also found numerous family pictures thrown into the trash.
The incident occurred overnight.
July 12
2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a woman reported having her wallet stolen from her purse while she was shopping at 2:15 p.m.
