Relief is in Sight

I’ve had a couple of busy days! On Friday, Steve and I headed to the Hollywood Bowl with some of the CV Chamber of Commerce board members to chat with Supervisor Kathryn Barger, listen to the music of Tchaikovsky and see some brilliant fireworks. 

Supervisor Barger had a pre-concert reception that gave us the chance to enjoy a little nosh (nibbles) and some beverages while meeting community members from the district that she oversees. It was a fun night!

On Saturday, Steve headed off to patrol with Montrose Search & Rescue so I had a friend (Terri) come over – laden with food! We enjoyed a variety of salads, chocolate covered nuts, a baguette and more. Thankfully the dogs (which can be daunting) didn’t faze her. She gave them lots of love – which they couldn’t get enough of! 

One of the dogs – Molly – loves to go into our pool, albeit just on the top step. First she’ll step in, then sit all the way down. She’ll do this regardless of the temperature. Whether it’s hot or cold outside, into the pool she’ll go! Well, if you remember it was hot on Saturday. So, following Molly’s cue, Terri and I decided to go swimming!

I’ll be honest – I haven’t been in the pool for over a year. When the kids were younger the pool was used a lot by them. But they’ve moved out and now the pool sits dormant. On Saturday though I remembered why we got a pool.

Unfortunately the pool is in shade much of the day, keeping the water temperature too cold for me. On Saturday, I warmed it just a little and swimming was heavenly. It wasn’t too warm at all and certainly not too cold. I stayed in the pool for quite some time, enjoying the memories of why we had ever gotten a pool.

Fun fact: when Steve came home, he too went swimming and had a fantastic time! Amazing what a little warm up can do.
