Two Arrested on Weapons Charges

A 17-year-old boy and a 34-year-old man, both from Palmdale, were arrested on Friday after Glendale police found weapons in their vehicle. A GPD officer conducted a routine traffic stop at 3 a.m. on Friday morning at Foothill Boulevard and Boston Avenue. The officer reportedly noticed a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. After an investigation the officer discovered a gun inside the backpack allegedly owned by the 34-year-old man. A replica handgun and collapsible baton were found on the floorboard of the vehicle. It was also discovered the 17-year-old driver did not have a valid driver’s license. He was placed under arrest and later released to his mother. The 34-year-old man was arrested on a variety of weapons violations.
