4500 block of Viro Road in La Cañada Flintridge, a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle. A witness reported observing a four-door dark sedan parked in the middle of the street in front of his home. He heard the sound of power tools coming from a neighbor’s Toyota. The man appeared to be working on the vehicle. The witnessed yelled at the man; the man yelled something back then got into the parked vehicle and left the area at 4 a.m.
July 10
5500 block of Godbey Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, a man reported parking his vehicle and locking the doors. When he returned he found the driver’s side keyhole was punched. He had left his wallet in the vehicle; he discovered his credit cards were stolen.
The incident occurred between 10 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.
July 9
4900 block of Revlon Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, residents returned to find a gate to their yard and a door to their home open. The screen to a window was also missing. Several rooms were ransacked and numerous personal items were stolen between 11:30 a.m. and 3:40 p.m.
July 8
600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, a woman reported that as she was shopping she placed her purse in the child seat area of the shopping cart but later found it had been stolen. “It should be noted,” according to a witness, that a male, described as White, about 20 years old, 5’7” tall, with a thin build with black hair who at the time was wearing a red soccer jersey and a female described as White, about 20 years old, 5’4” tall, with a thin build with black hair who at the time was wearing a white/green shirt and white/green hat, approached the woman prior to her noticing her purse was gone. They asked questions about the groceries at the store and if she spoke Spanish. She did not see them take her purse.
The theft occurred between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.
July 7
600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, an employee reported witnessing, through her own experience and via surveillance footage, four juveniles described as Black teenagers enter the store and grab several articles of women’s clothing. They then ran out of the store without attempting to pay.
They entered a black BMW 3281 and fled the area at 2:44 p.m.
2900 block of Fairmount Avenue in La Crescenta, a man reported coming home to find the side doors of his vehicle open; it did not appear that anything was stolen. He checked his girlfriend’s vehicle, which was parked in the same parking lot, and found the driver’s side door keyhole had been punched. The vehicle was still locked.
Deputies reviewed the surveillance footage and saw an adult male described as Caucasian and, at the time, wearing a baseball cap with a black bill, light colored hooded sweatshirt and light-colored shirt, move out from behind the victim’s vehicle and walk to the driver’s side door out of view.
The incident occurred at 3:45 a.m.
July 6
900 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to a call regarding a burglary. The glass door was found shattered, the cash register was opened and paperwork was scattered on the floor. The burglary occurred overnight.
