CVCA Meets Tonight
The Crescenta Valley Community Association will meet starting at 6 p.m. tonight, Thursday, June 22 at the La Crescenta Library. The meeting is starting an hour early so new Glendale Councilmember Vrej Agajanian can address the group. There will also be updates on local land use and development issues.

Hams at Verdugo Park
Amateur radio, or ham radio, enthusiasts from the Crescenta Valley Radio Club will be at Verdugo Park in Glendale on the weekend of June 24-25 to join other ham radio operators throughout North America as they participate in the annual Field Day, described as a ham radio’s open house.
The event begins on both days at 11 a.m. and the public is invited to stop by and learn about ham radio. Free to attend.
Verdugo Park is located at 1621 Cañada Blvd. (near Glendale Community College).
RSVP Required for Rosemont Preserve Tour
All are invited on Saturday, June 24 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for an informative tour about tracking and photographing the wildlife at the Rosemont Preserve! Join wildlife photographer and expert tracker Johanna Turner as she explains why wildlife comes into local yards and how to spot their tracks. She will talk about tracking mountain lions in the Verdugo Mountains and how her photos help the Dept. of Fish & Wildlife collar P41.
Because of the intimate nature of this tour groups need to be limited to 15. Those who would like to attend must RSVP to RosemontFriends@gmail.com. The first 15 to respond will be guaranteed a spot; a waiting list will be created in case of cancellations.
The Preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, please park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave., in La Crescenta. Bring water, a hat and wear sturdy shoes to walk the trail.

Dining Fundraiser for Rockhaven
Villa Terraza, former sites of Old Vienna Restaurant and Villa Cinzano Restaurant, in Shadow Hills will donate 20% of the food proceeds to Friends of Rockhaven on June 25 between 9 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. when the promotional flyer is brought to the restaurant. An informal Friends of Rockhaven meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m.

Glendale to Host 24th Annual Cruise Night
The City of Glendale is hosting Glendale Cruise Night, in conjunction with the Downtown Glendale Association and presented by Glendale Economic Development Dept. Southern California’s most popular car show is returning for its 24th year on Saturday, July 15. From 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., stroll down Brand Boulevard to see over 350 classic pre-1980 cars and motorcycles, dance to live music and stand star-struck as fireworks light up the sky. To top it all off, the event’s kid-friendly booth activities make this a night the whole family can enjoy.
