Pair Arrested for Possession of a Firearm, Illegal Drugs, Fraud and Vehicle Theft
On June 3 at approximately 12:45 p.m., officers located an occupied stolen vehicle driving in the area of Los Feliz Avenue and Gardena Avenue. The vehicle was stopped and the two occupants, 37-year-old Roberto Luis and 42-year-old Nina Maynard of Glendale, were detained. Both Roberto and Nina told officers they were currently on post release community supervision.
During a search of the stolen vehicle, officers located a loaded handgun, multiple baggies of methamphetamine, a large quantity of marijuana, a digital scale, bolt cutters, a pry bar and a credit card reader along with numerous credit cards and identification cards belonging to other people.
Luis and Maynard were subsequently arrested and booked for a multitude of charges including being convicted felons in possession of a firearm, possession of illegal drugs for sale, vehicle theft, identity theft and violating the terms of their post release community supervision.
Male Arrested for Shooting into an Inhabited Building
On May 22 just before 5 p.m., Glendale Police officers responded to the Glendale Market Place parking structure on the 100 block of South Artsakh Avenue regarding possible “shots fired.” On arrival, officers determined multiple rounds had been fired at an adjacent occupied structure; however, no one had been struck. Officers canvased the area and located several spent shell casings along with a discarded handgun.
During the subsequent investigation by the Glendale Police Department’s Robbery/Homicide Unit, 28-year-old Ruben Garsevanyan of Glendale was identified as the involved suspect and a Ramey Arrest Warrant was obtained for his arrest. On June 14, detectives assigned to the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force located, arrested and booked Garsevanyan for shooting into an inhabited building.
