The City of La Cañada Flintridge advises residents and visitors that the Caltrans parking lot located at 1300 Foothill Blvd. in La Cañada Flintridge, near Memorial Park, will be temporarily closed beginning July 1. This property is owned and operated by the State of California – Dept. of Transportation (Caltrans) and the closure is solely a Caltrans decision. 

This state-directed closure will significantly affect parking availability at Memorial Park and for its community events. Visitors should anticipate parking challenges for the upcoming Music in the Park summer concert series, the weekly Farmer’s Market and general recreational use of Memorial Park. 

The City is currently working with the Farmer’s Market organizers to temporarily relocate it for the duration of the Caltrans lot closure. More information will follow once a new location is set. 

As the summer season approaches, the City encourages residents and event attendees to plan ahead, carpool or allow for extra time to find alternative parking when visiting the area. This notice is to ensure the community is aware of the state’s decision and has ample time to prepare for the changes before the July 1 closure takes effect.
