Glendale Fire Dept. received a call at 1:30 this afternoon concerning an apartment fire in the 4100 block of Pennsylvania at Montrose Avenue. When they arrived a lower level apartment was completely engulfed in flames. The fire had traveled to the apartments on the second and third floors of the three-story building. No other apartments were affected.

One person was transported due to apparent smoke inhalation; the firefighters knocked down the fire at 1:52.

Pennsylvania Avenue remains closed in all directions from the overpass south to Montrose Avenue. The 210 Freeway eastbound entrances and exits at Pennsylvania Avenue are closed. The 210 Freeway westbound entrances and exits at Pennsylvania Avenue are open with traffic only allowed to travel north on Pennsylvania.

Glendale Fire Dept. investigators are on scene and the cause is under investigation.
