Barger Spotlights Newly Expanded Legal Services for Eaton Fire Survivors

Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Kathryn Barger appreciates the new expansion of free legal assistance for survivors of the Eaton Fire through the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law.

These services, provided on a pro bono basis, aim to support individuals and families navigating the complex legal challenges resulting from the disaster.

“The services provided by Pepperdine Caruso School of Law have the potential to provide life-changing support to Eaton Fire survivors,” said Supervisor Barger. “During their disaster recovery journey, survivors need strong legal advocates. I appreciate Pepperdine for stepping up in such a meaningful way.”

The Pepperdine Caruso School of Law is now making additional law students available to meet the rising demand for legal aid among affected residents. Survivors can receive help with a wide range of legal issues including appealing FEMA denials, working with insurance providers to maximize policy benefits and help with the legal needs of renters.

All services are confidential and offered at no cost. Eaton Fire survivors can complete a legal assistance request form or contact the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law to schedule a one-on-one appointment with an assigned attorney or legal professional.
