Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the precautions being taken to prevent the spread of the virus, the City of Glendale will host a virtual Memorial Day ceremony in lieu of the annual ceremony that takes place at City Hall. The video will be shared on the @MyGlendale Facebook page, YouTube channel, and broadcast on GTV6 (Spectrum Ch. 6 and AT&T Ch. 99) on Monday, May 25 at 10 a.m.
The video ceremony will include speaking points by Mayor Vrej Agajanian and keynote speaker and Vietnam Veteran Randy Slaughter, just as they would deliver a message in person at City Hall. The video will also include highlights from previous years’ ceremonies.
According to a statement from the City, “Although we are very saddened that we are unable to hold this event this year, we are grateful for the opportunity to honor all those who have served to protect our country.”
