Median Project Moves Forward

The Foothill Boulevard median project is moving forward. It was advertised on May 15. Bids are expected to open on June 5 and a contractor will be identified shortly after. Construction is expected to begin as soon as late August with an expected completion of later than mid-November.

Work will take place five days per week (Monday through Friday) and the contractor will be authorized to work on weekends if needed to complete the project before the start of the holiday season. Once the contractor is selected, a schedule for the work will be developed. The County will review the schedule to ensure that disruptions to traffic are kept to a minimum.

The County is monitoring the progress of the Caltrans I-210 project and does not believe there will be any major conflicts with the median construction.

The City of Glendale will be constructing a project on Pennsylvania Avenue with a construction window from July-November 2018. The project is adjacent to the median project and the County will coordinate with the City of Glendale to minimize impacts to the community.

Foothill Boulevard will not be repaved as part of this project. The County of Los Angeles Dept. of Public Works Road Maintenance will continue to monitor the road and provide maintenance as needed.

The medians will be maintained by the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Road Maintenance.
