UPDATE COVID-19-May 10
The Los Angeles County Dept. of Public Health has reported 18 new deaths as of today due to COVID-19. This brings the death total in LA County to 1,530 deaths.
As of May 9 Glendale reported 49 deaths due to COVID-19.
“Each day, we report these numbers knowing that there are people who are grieving their loved ones who have passed away from COVID-19. To all of you, we are so deeply sorry for your loss,” said Barbara Ferrer, PhD, MPH, MEd, Director of Public Health. “As we begin our recovery journey, we are grateful for all you have done to get us to this point. More than ever, we all need to continue to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19, to protect the most vulnerable members of our community, and to, most importantly, save lives.”
Public Health also reported 484 new cases of COVID-19 bring the total in LA County to 31,677 cases. This number includes 724 total cases reported in the City of Glendale, 43 cases in La Cañada Flintridge, 120 cases in Eagle Rock, 111 in Sunland and Tujunga has reported a total of 89. In the unincorporated area of LA County, Angeles National Forest has reported zero cases, Altadena has reported 99 and La Crescenta Montrose has reported 18.
As of May 10, the State of California has reported 2,745 deaths due to COVID-19 and a total of 66,680 positive cases.
