LA County Updates Its Numbers

The Los Angeles County Dept. of Public Health (Public Health) has confirmed 51 new deaths of COVID-19 bringing the total number of deaths in LA County to 1,468.
There were 883 new positive cases of COVID-19 reported bringing the total number of positive cases in LA County to 30,296 as of May 8 .

As of today, 5,298 people who tested positive for COVID-19 (19% of positive cases) have been hospitalized at some point during their illness. Testing capacity continues to increase in LA County, with testing results available for nearly 215,000 individuals with 12% of people testing positive.

As of May 8 according to LA County Public health the total number of positive cases include 697 in the City of Glendale, 41 cases in La Cañada Flintridge and Eagle Rock has reported 108. Sunland has also reported 108 and Tujunga has 88. In the unincorporated area of Los Angeles County Angeles National Forest has reported zero and La Crescenta Montrose has reported 17.

The City of Glendale  reported 44 deaths as of May 7.

USC Verdugo Hill Hospital has reported that as of May 8, there were 12 patients with confirmed COVID-19 cases currently in the hospital, 76 were sent home and 35 have transferred. Of the patients that tested negative for COVID-19, 51 are hospitalized, 575 have been sent home and nine were transferred. Of the patients with pending COVID-19 results, 11 are currently in the hospital and one was sent home.
