Montrose Avenue and Ocean View Boulevard in Montrose, a man was riding his Vespa scooter westbound on Montrose Avenue and stopped at a red light at the Montrose and Ocean View intersection. The man noticed a male [suspect] in a white Toyota Highlander looking at him. For some reason the suspect began making hand gestures at the Vespa driver. The man turned his head away from the suspect and waited for the light to change. Once the light turned green he, and the suspect, proceeded through the intersection. As the man drove his Vespa scooter on Montrose Avenue he saw the suspect grip the vehicle’s steering wheel and turn it to the right causing the suspect’s vehicle to swerve into the victim’s lane. The victim swerved to avoid being hit and stopped.

The incident occurred at 10:45 a.m.

April 30

3100 block of Altura Avenue in Montrose, a landscaper was working in the backyard of a home. When he came back to the front lawn a passerby told him that he had witnessed two suspects steal a chainsaw from the back of the landscaper’s truck at 12:35 p.m.

2400 block of Cross Street in La Crescenta, a package containing a laptop computer was stolen from a front porch on April 29.

April 29

3000 block of Altura Avenue in Montrose, a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle overnight.

2200 block of Shields Street in La Crescenta, the driver’s side window of a vehicle was shattered. Nothing appeared to be stolen. The incident occurred overnight.

April 27

1900 block of N. Trail Canyon Road in Tujunga, the rear window of a vehicle was shattered and personal items were stolen from a vehicle between 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

4400 block of Oak Grove Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, a woman reported that she had a volleyball game at La Cañada High School. During the game she left her backpack on the floor of the women’s locker room. After the game she took her backpack and went home. The following morning she looked in her wallet and discovered that cash and several of her gift cards were stolen.

The theft occurred between 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
