CVTC Hosting Town Hall

The Crescenta Valley Town Council is hosting a home break-in prevention and Neighborhood Watch town hall with the LA County Sheriff’s Dept.

Tips will be offered on how residents can safeguard their home or business, how to prevent intrusions and deter crime and how to start a Neighborhood Watch.

The town hall is on Wednesday, May 8 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library community room, 2809 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta. RSVP to

Town Council Scholarship Apps

Applications for Crescenta Valley Town Council scholarships are available to graduating seniors who live in unincorporated Los Angeles County – La Crescenta/Montrose. The applications are on the CVTC website ( and have to be returned by May 5.


Verdugo Mountains 10K

The City of Glendale announced the return of the Verdugo Mountains 10k Trail Run & Hike, this year on May 5 at 8 a.m. The race proceeds support the Glendale Parks & Open Space Foundation, a non-profit that supports open space and outdoor programs in Glendale.

The Verdugo Mountains 10k Trail Run & Hike began in 2011 as an annual event to bring runners and hikers together to conquer the Verdugo Mountains. The course starts in Brand Park near the Doctor’s House and climbs the Brand Motorway 1,686 feet of elevation to a height of 2,536 feet above sea level. Participants will get breathtaking views of Glendale and the San Fernando Valley from high up on the mountain.

Registration for the event is available at Fees are $40 per runner and include a T-shirt and finisher medal.


Rosemont Preserve

The Rosemont Preserve will host their Open Gate at the Preserve on Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Gates are open to wander the trail. Take a tour with our guided map.
