County Updates Its COVID-19 Numbers

April 29

Los Angeles County announced 56 new deaths in LA County due to COVID-19 bringing the total to 1,056 deaths. There were 1,541 new positive cases of COVID 19 reported in LA County. This is the highest number of new cases reported.

One reason for the higher number is the additional tests being administered; another is due to the lag in reporting new cases over the weekend: Monday’s numbers can often be lower while Tuesday’s are higher because of this lag time in reporting.

As of April 29, the total number of positive cases in LA County is 22,485, which includes 530 in the City of Glendale, 37 in La Cañada Flintridge and 84 cases in Eagle Rock. Sunland reported 79 and Tujunga reported 66. In the unincorporated area of LA County-Angeles National Forest there was one case reported case and 16 in La Crescenta-Montrose.

The City of Glendale reported 18 deaths due to COVID-19 as of April 28.

USC Verdugo Hills reported, as of April 29, there were 14 patients confirmed with COVID-19 who were hospitalized, 53 had been sent home and 35 were transferred. There were 44 patients hospitalized who had tested negative for COVID-19, 428 who had been sent home and none were transferred. There are 10 patients with pending COVID-19 tests and one was sent home.
