April 14

2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, items of clothing, a wallet and cold medicine were stolen from a business. Deputies reported receiving a phone call concerning shoplifting suspect who was described as a white female wearing a red shirt and black pants. As deputies were investigating they noticed a woman matching the description of the suspect who they detained. The employee at the store reported seeing a woman take the reported items and placing them into a black bag, then exit the store without attempting to pay. The woman, 58, was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at 3 p.m.

 

April 12

600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a bag of potato chips and several packages of whitening toothpaste strips were stolen from a business. An employee reported observing a man described as Hispanic in his 30s, about 6’2″ tall and weighing between 210 to 220 pounds. At the time he was wearing a hat, red and black t-shirt, black pants and was carrying a duffel bag and a large navy blue backpack. He appeared to be accompanied by a woman described as Hispanic, about 30 years old, 5’11″ tall and weighing about 180 pounds. She had shoulder length, curly brown hair and at the time was wearing a blue shirt. The man allegedly took the items from the store, and walked out of the store without attempting to pay for the items. An employee approached them and the man dropped the bag with the items and he and the woman fled the area. The incident occurred at 1 p.m.

800 Greenridge Drive in La Cañada, a resident reported returning home and entered his home. He was there for a while before walking upstairs where he discovered several rooms had been ransacked. Jewelry and a purse were reported stolen between 8:30 a.m. to 8:45 p.m.

 

April 10

800 block of Valley Crest Street in La Cañada Flintridge, when a resident returned home, opened the garage door and noticed the area ransacked. The point of entry into the home appeared to be an upstairs glass patio door that had been smashed. Deputies arrived and discovered several other rooms had been ransacked. Jewelry had been stolen. The residential burglary occurred between 8 a.m. on April 10 and 10 p.m. on April 11.
