Genocide Results Topic of College Discussion
“Disruption, Survival and Innovation: How Genocide Affects Intellectual Capital in Science and Culture” will be presented at Glendale Community College from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24 in Cimmarusti Science Center room 177 as part of the GCC Science Lecture Series.
The speaker is Azzie Mekhitarian, political science professor at East L.A.
College. She will discuss what happens to intellectual capital and the potential for innovation when there is a disruption like genocide or war. The lecture will address the scientific innovation contributed by dispersed survivors throughout the world, including Armenians, Cambodians, Rwandans and Bosnians.

CVWD Holding Meeting on Brookhill
The CV Water District is hosting a community meeting tonight, Thursday, April 19 at 6 p.m. This meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss with CVWD staff members and the contractor the upcoming construction of a new eight-inch water main on the 2700 block of Brookhill Avenue and on the 5000 block of La Crescenta Avenue. Local residents are invited to come for discussion and refreshments.
The meeting will be held in front of 2719 Brookhill Ave., at the cul-de-sac, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Women Artists Supporting FoR
A collection of artists will be displaying and selling at the Art on the Rocks fair at St. Luke’s of the Mountains on April 21 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Indoors and outside, 25 vendors will be featured who are selling paintings, jams, music, jewelry, purses, ceramics, needlework and clothing. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., there will be a woman-owned (and family-operated) food truck on Foothill Boulevard.

CVCA Offers Land Use Updates
