April 5
2900 block of Paraiso Way in La Crescenta, a gym bag and other items were stolen from a locked vehicle overnight.
4500 block of Littleton Place in La Cañada, a man arrived home and noticed the living door was open but assumed it was due to a family member being home. He called out for the family member but received no response. He didn’t think too much about it until later when he went to his front door and found a note from a deputy from the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station informing him deputies found a bedroom window and kitchen door open when they were at his home earlier. After contacting the sheriff’s station he was told that deputies responded to a call of a possible trespasser at his home but did not find anyone at the home at the time. The resident went through his home and found several rooms had been ransacked and items had been stolen.
The residential burglary occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
5200 block of Escalante Drive in La Cañada, personal items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.
4300 block of Alta Canyada Road in La Cañada, the driver’s side window was smashed and a personal organizer book was stolen from a vehicle overnight.
April 4
Angeles Crest Highway at mile marker 32.4 in Angeles National Forest, several items were stolen and the driver’s side rear window was smashed on a vehicle between 8:20 a.m. and 12:20 p.m.
200 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, the front passenger window was shattered and a backpack was stolen from a vehicle between 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
2900 Community Avenue in La Crescenta, a backpack with technical equipment was stolen from an unlocked locker at the high school between 1 p.m. and 2:50 p.m.
April 3
700 Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, the driver’s window was shattered and the driver’s side mirror was damaged on a vehicle between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
March 30
900 block of Town Center Drive in La Cañada, a woman was seen, via video surveillance, shopping throughout the store and placing items in her cart. She went to the self-checkout area and appeared to scan the items for purchase. It was discovered that the woman had scanned bar codes from other items, not of those that she was purchasing but of lower-priced items. She then left the store at 11:43 a.m.
March 27
Montrose and Mira Vista avenues in Montrose, a woman told deputies that, as she was crossing Mira Vista Avenue, she saw a vehicle traveling east on Mira Vista. She motioned for the vehicle to go before her, but the vehicle stopped and a man got out of the rear passenger side of the car and grabbed her purse. She held onto her purse and asked the man what he wanted; he told her he wanted her money. He then punched her in the face and the contents of her purse fell to the ground. The man then grabbed her money and shoved her causing her to fall to the ground. He then got back into the rear passenger seat of the vehicle.
The first suspect was described as a male Armenian, 30-to-35 years old, 5’11” tall and weighing 165 pounds. At the time he was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and the hood was pulled up covering most of his face. The victim believes the suspect’s vehicle is a white, four-door, older model Kia Rio.
The victim apparently blacked out on the side of Mira Vista until a man and woman found her and drove her home.
The robbery occurred between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
900 block of Town Center Drive in La Cañada, a man was seen, via video surveillance, entering a store and first taking a bundle of bananas and placing them in a shopping cart. He then went to the electronic section of the store and picked up a box containing a home security camera. He was seen taking the security wrapping off the box and then placing it into his cart. He began walking toward the self-checkout section of the store but stopped to pick up some potatoes. He used the self-checkout to pay for the bananas and potatoes, but did not pay for the security camera. He left the store with all of the items.
The theft occurred at 7:39 p.m.
