CVTC Meeting Canceled
The monthly general meeting of the Crescenta Valley Town Council scheduled for tonight, March 19, has been canceled.
Survey Takers Requested
CVWD requires approximately $70 million in infrastructure improvements over the next 10 years. (See their website for details.)
Public input is requested on issuing water bonds to fund the necessary improvements. Issuing bonds will allow CVWD to keep annual water rate increases very close to the same as usual (from the historical 6% per year to 6.1% for the next 10-15 years), while allowing CVWC to upgrade its infrastructure, protect reserves and fund future projects and unanticipated needs.
The community is invited to provide input on issuing the water bonds by completing the survey at https://tinyurl.com/wptn836.
Ascencia Looking for Meals
To limit the exposure of its clients to others, the Ascencia Access Center and Shelter will be closed to the public until April 1. This means shelter residents will be in the shelter 24 hours a day. There are 40 vulnerable men, women and children (who are out of school) who will need to be fed.
Ascencia is seeking home-cooked meals; prepared frozen food (for example, tray of lasagna, enchiladas); sack lunches (sandwiches, chips, fruit); catered food from restaurants (a tax letter regarding the donation is available upon request by emailing Faith Riley at friley@ascenciaca.org); nonperishable items (pasta, pasta sauce, canned chili, etc.); drinks (water, juice, milk, etc.); plates, utensils, cups, and napkins; and hygiene supplies (hand soap, body soap, shampoo, toilet paper, antibacterial wipes, paper towels, etc.).
