2400 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a Maywood man and a La Crescenta man were arrested for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance resembling methamphetamine. The arrest came after a deputy discovered the BMW driver had a warrant out in his name. The driver, the Maywood man, and his passenger, the La Crescenta man, had exited the vehicle and were sitting on a bench in front of the location. After an investigation, the deputy allegedly discovered the controlled substance in a box in the suspects’ possession. The arrest was made at 2:55 a.m.

5300 block of La Cañada Boulevard in La Cañada, a laptop computer, numerous handbags and jewelry were stolen after the residents returned home to find the side door and kitchen window opened. The residents were certain the home was secured when they left earlier. The burglary occurred between 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
March 12
Foothill Boulevard and La Crescenta Avenue in La Cañada Flintridge, a Glendale man was arrested for disorderly conduct (public intoxication) after deputies responded to a call concerning a “person drunk.” The deputy discovered a man sleeping in the driveway of the location. The man stood up and began to sway and stagger. A deputy reported a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the man. He was arrested and taken to the CV Sheriff’s Station 8:37 p.m.

5100 block of Briggs Avenue in La Crescenta, a purse and cash were stolen after a woman returned home to find her front door open. She entered and noticed several rooms in her home had been ransacked. A purse and an envelope with cash inside had been stolen from a shelf in the resident’s closet. The burglary occurred between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
