P.O. Boxes at Montrose Post Office Broken Into

U.S. Postal Inspectors were at the Montrose Post Office at 2100 Montrose Avenue this morning conducting an investigation.

According to a U.S. Postal official, a few Post Office Boxes were found tampered and broken into. The USPS will be contacting those parties affected by the theft. Anyone who is expecting a check or mail with personal information including account numbers or social security information is advised to contact the appropriate agencies.

The investigation is ongoing. Tampering with the mail is a federal offense.
