On Monday, Feb. 11 at 1:26 p.m., a grand theft occurred at 211 N. Glendale Ave. The victim had just withdrawn a large amount of cash from the Bank of America at Wilson/Glendale. She walked to her vehicle parked at the Fashion Center and placed the cash inside the car. As she drove away, she realized her right rear tire was flat.
As she was outside the car inspecting the tire, Suspect No. 1 entered her car and removed the cash. Video surveillance shows Suspect No. 1 following the victim to her car and slashing her tire just after she entered her vehicle. A similar flat tire ruse grand theft was used on Feb. 6 at the same Bank of America and on Feb. 12 at Wells Fargo at 535 N. Brand Blvd.
On Feb. 25, Torrance Police Dept. identified the suspects and they were taken into custody.
