Accident at Angeles Crest and Foothill

By Mary O’KEEFE

On Feb. 25 the driver of a delivery truck that was traveling southbound on Angeles Crest Highway lost control of his vehicle as it approached Foothill Boulevard. The truck went over the northwest curb at the location near the 7-Eleven store and gas station, continuing over the corner, knocking down a sign and hitting a large boulder, which it dragged into the middle lanes of Foothill Boulevard.
The driver and passenger reported minor injuries; no other vehicles were involved.
The driver reportedly told Los Angeles Sheriffs Dept.-Crescenta Valley deputies that his brakes failed.

The boulder the truck hit slowed the vehicle’s speed; otherwise the truck could have continued traveling, possibly striking businesses on the south side of Foothill Boulevard, said Sgt. Brooks of the CV Station.
