Detectives from Crescenta Valley station and the Los Angeles County Auto Theft Taskforce Auto Theft Taskforce arrested two in connection with a La Cañada Flintridge burglary and grand theft auto.
On Sunday, Feb. 23, a residence on the 800 block of Greenridge Drive in La Cañada Flintridge was burglarized. Miscellaneous items and a key to the victim’s vehicle were stolen. On Tuesday, Feb. 25, the victims discovered their vehicle had been stolen from the driveway of their home.
Suspecting the two crimes were related, detectives from Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station began their investigation. They learned the victim’s vehicle had GPS and was in the San Fernando Valley. With the assistance of the Los Angeles County Auto Theft Taskforce, the detectives were able to track the vehicle down to the Woodland Hills area. They observed the vehicle driving with a chase vehicle following. Detectives were able to detain the driver of the chase vehicle, a male adult from Los Angeles. When detectives attempted to detain the driver of the stolen vehicle, she fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, she was taken into custody. The female adult from Glendale was found to be in possession of the stolen key and illegal narcotics with the intent to sell. Detectives were able to recover the victim’s vehicle.
The male adult was booked at Crescenta Valley Station for burglary, driving without owner’s consent, and burglary tools. The female adult was booked at Crescenta Valley Station for burglary, driving without owner’s consent, possession of narcotics for sales, and resisting a peace officer.
