Feb. 16

2400 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, the rear driver’s side window was smashed and a computer tablet was stolen overnight.

 

Feb. 14

2100 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, deputies responded to an alarm call at a pharmacy and found the front glass window had been shattered. There was a piece of concrete about 3-by-6 inches stuck between the shattered glass window and the security screen. There was no sign of forced entry into the pharmacy.

The alarm was activated at 12:07 a.m.

 

Feb. 13

2800 block of Pinelawn Drive in La Crescenta, an Apple MacBook, sunglasses and coins were stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The resident reported seeing a white sport utility vehicle drive past her home, then make a U-turn driving across the street from her vehicle. She reported witnessing a female wearing a light-colored outfit exit the vehicle. She attempted to open one vehicle but was unsuccessful, but then was successful opening the door of a vehicle parked in the driveway. She took the items out of the car at 1:43 a.m.

3800 block of Park Place in Montrose, a mail carrier reportedly told a resident of an apartment complex that someone had appeared to have damaged three of the locked mailboxes at the complex overnight.

3700 block of Via Serrano Avenue in La Cañada, a glass door was smashed and a door frame had been kicked in at a home and several rooms were ransacked. Nothing was reported missing.

The burglary occurred at 7:35 p.m.

500 block of Palmerstone Drive in La Cañada, a man returned home and noticed a dark colored, perhaps navy blue, Ford or Chevrolet panel van parked near the residence’s driveway. The man drove his vehicle and focused his headlights on the van. The van sped off at a high rate of speed. The resident did not see anything unusual at the time. The next morning he looked around the residence and discovered a ladder propped up against a wall adjacent to the home’s master suite. He also noticed several muddy footprints around the location.

The attempted burglary occurred at 7:35 p.m.

 

Feb. 12

800 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, the rear right passenger side window was shattered, the front right passenger side window had punch markings on it, and a backpack and laptop computer were stolen from a vehicle that was parked in a parking lot between 2:30 p.m. and 3:49 p.m.

 

Feb. 11

600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a man described as Hispanic wearing a burgundy hooded sweater, black pants and black shoes entered the store and picked up a handheld shopping basket. He then proceeded to fill the basket with items from the dental hygiene and nutritional display area. He then ran out of the store without attempting to pay for the items and was witnessed getting into the passenger side of a GMC Suburban that then drove away from the area at 6:17 p.m.

 

Feb. 8

2900 block of Community Avenue in La Crescenta, wireless headphones and a wallet with personal information were stolen from a backpack that was left next to a locker in the girls’ gym locker room between 10:25 a.m. and 11:10 a.m.

 

Feb. 9

4300 block of Commonwealth Avenue in La Cañada, a resident returned to find the door leading to the backyard was broken and several rooms ransacked. There was nothing reported missing at the time. The burglary occurred between 6:28 p.m. and 10 p.m.

 

Feb. 8

4900 block of Crown Avenue in La Cañada, the bathroom window was shattered and jewelry was stolen from a home between 6:30 p.m. and 10:55 p.m.

Foothill Boulevard and Commonwealth Avenue in La Cañada, deputies received a report concerning a young boy who had allegedly been approached as he was walking home from his elementary school by a man in a white van with tinted windows. The man pulled his vehicle over to where the boy was standing; the boy became frightened and ran down the street where he found other schoolmates and shared his experience. The boy told deputies he was afraid he would have been kidnapped if he had not run away. Deputies investigated but did not find the van or suspect.

The incident occurred at 4 p.m.

 

Feb. 7

4800 block of Hillard Avenue in La Cañada, the front passenger side window was shattered and a laptop bag was stolen at 4:05 a.m.

400 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, packages were stolen from the front porch of a home at 12:40 p.m.

4500 block of Alcorn Drive in La Cañada, a resident contacted deputies regarding two suspicious “male juveniles” that he viewed via a live camera feed from his home. When deputies arrived they discovered a window punch on the ground in front of a gate at the home. The resident reported getting a notice from his Ring surveillance camera of movement in the backyard. A review of the footage showed three men described as Hispanic in the backyard. He was able to “scare” them off by yelling at them. After an investigation, it was believed the men fled in a gray Audi four-door hatchback vehicle at 10:40 a.m.

 

Feb. 6

5000 block of Ocean View Boulevard in La Cañada, several rooms in a home were ransacked, a sliding glass door in the master bedroom was shattered and a digital camera and two purses were stolen from a home between 5:17 p.m. and 7:35 p.m.

 

Feb. 2

890 block of Gold Creek Road in Angeles National Forest, a construction worker reported that a jackhammer was stolen from a church location. Surveillance footage shows an unknown man, described as 5’8” to 5’10” tall with a medium build dressed in white full body rain gear with yellow vertical reflectors and a hoodie, at the location. The suspect was driving a tractor. He used that vehicle to pick up a large object thought to be the jackhammer and transport it to the bed of a late model, white pickup truck. The suspect got into the vehicle and drove away.

The theft occurred between 10:56 a.m. and 11:03 a.m.

 

Dec. 4

4300 block of Encinas Drive in La Cañada, a man reported his wallet with personal information was stolen from his unlocked vehicle. Initially he was not going to report the theft but discovered he needed to report the incident to apply for a new driver’s license.
