Thank you, LA Clippers

The newly resurfaced basketball court at Two Strike Park is getting a lot of use. The resurfacing and repairs are thanks to the generosity of the LA Clippers in partnership with LA County Dept. of Parks and Recreation.

Some may have noticed a new look at the basketball court at Two Strike Park. This is thanks to the LA Clippers.

“Two Strike Park was part of the Clippers Community Courts program,” said a Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation spokesperson.

The project was completed in December 2024.

“This was not a new court. The Clippers-funded scope of work here included a repair and resurfacing of the existing full-court basketball court. The court improvements across the County varied in scope according to the existing conditions. For Two Strike, the court slab was in good condition, so the resurfacing work resulted in a beautiful playing surface,” added the spokesperson.

The LA Clippers Foundation (LACF), the LA County Dept. of Parks and Recreation and the LA County Parks Foundation are working in partnership to upgrade basketball courts across the County parks system.

LACF donated $5.3 million to the LA County Parks Foundation, which funds the project and will refurbish and improve all 117 basketball courts operated by the Dept. of Parks and Recreation, according to LA County Park Foundation.

“These LA County courts are located at 60 parks countywide, including many in park-poor neighborhoods that are lacking in quality recreational facilities and programs. This program builds upon the Clippers Foundation partnership with the City of Los Angeles, bringing the total number of Clippers Community Courts across Southern California to nearly 500 courts,” said the spokesperson.
