Glendale police detectives are continuing their investigation into two deaths that appear to be related.
“We are investigating a possible murder- suicide,” said Tahnee Lightfoot, spokeswoman for the GPD.
The call came in at about 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday concerning an unknown problem at Northwoods Lane between Ramsdell and Pennsylvania avenues.
“Officers arrived on scene, the front door was open, no one [appeared] to be home. When officers searched the residence they found a deceased male in his 50s in a room in the home,” she said. “There were obvious signs of a crime.”
About 45 minutes later GPD received a call from the California Highway Patrol concerning a possible suicide on the Ventura [134] Freeway at the Glendale [2] Freeway transition.
According to a CHP spokesman, they were notified that GPD was looking for a truck that apparently belonged to someone at the Northwoods address. They found the truck on the 134 Freeway, and then discovered the body of a man, in his 50s, on the shoulder of the westbound 134 Freeway. It appeared the man jumped from the 134 transition to the 2 Freeway, Lightfoot said.
She could not elaborate on cause of death of the apparent murdered victim or the relationship between the two men; however, she did say detectives feel the two deaths were related.
Although there has been speculation on social media on the identity of the men and their relationship, GPD will not release any more information pending family notification.
Detectives were at the locations for most of Wednesday interviewing witnesses and investigating the crime scenes.
