3900 block of Park Place in Montrose, a resident reported hearing the sound of someone cutting something outside his window. When he looked outside he noticed an unknown person running from the metal rolling gate just below his window. The person ran northbound on Park Place and out of view. While the suspect was running from the location the informant noticed a female exiting out of the driver’s seat of a black SUV that was parked on Park Place. The female reportedly put her hands out to her side in a disbelief gesture while watching the suspect running. The female got back into the vehicle and drove out of sight. Another neighbor reported hearing similar cutting sounds near the metal gate at the same time.
The incident occurred at 2:30 a.m.
Feb. 13
900 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, between 1 p.m. and 1:21 p.m. a woman reported that she had placed her wallet inside her purse that was resting in the shopping cart was she was shopping at the location. After leaving the store she received a notice from bank that there was activity on her credit card. She then looked in her purse and discovered her wallet was stolen.
The theft occurred between 1 p.m. and 1:21 p.m.
4400 block of La Crescenta Avenue in Montrose, a man parked his Toyota Prius at the church’s parking lot. He then walked int the conference room of the church and placed his backpack and vehicle keys on a table and went to a Bible study group. When the study was over he returned to the conference room and found his vehicle keys missing. He walked outside and found his vehicle was missing. Surveillance footage revealed a male adult wearing a black baseball hat, black sweater, black pants, white shoes and carrying a backpack enter the church, taking the victim’s car keys and walking out of the building. Outside footage showed the suspect entering the Prius and driving away from the area at about 8:44 p.m.
Feb. 9
El Caminito Street and Rosemont Avenue in La Crescenta, a man parked his vehicle at the corner of the location and when he returned noticed three of the vehicle windows had a crack on each. The cracks appeared to each have a star pattern, as if someone was using a tool to try to break the window.
The attempted burglary occurred overnight.
