400 block of Encinas Drive in La Cañada, while inside her home a woman received a text alert from Amazon that a package containing clothing had been left at her front porch. As she opened the front door to retrieve the package she saw the suspect, described as a male Hispanic wearing a black sweater, black pants and a black baseball hat. The man was holding her package and was walking down the steps from her home. He got into a white Jeep Comfort utility-type vehicle that had disabled license plates and a Lyft sticker on the back window. The driver of the vehicle was described as a heavy-set adult female with dark hair pulled back into a ponytail and wearing a white T-shirt.
The theft occurred between 11:02 a.m. and 11:03 a.m.
Jan. 19
3900 block of Alta Vista Drive in La Cañada, deputies responded to an audible residential alarm and discovered several rooms in the home ransacked and the balcony glass door shattered. At the time nothing was reported stolen.
The alarm was activated at 8:54 p.m.
4300 block of Beulah Drive in La Cañada, several doors were damaged, including a rear glass door, and items were stolen from a home overnight.
Jan. 18
900 block of Town Center Drive in La Cañada, a woman reported that her wallet was stolen out of her purse while she was eating at Panera Bread restaurant between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
1200 block of Journeys End Drive in La Cañada, deputies responded to an alarm at a home. The residents had left just a short time earlier. An investigation discovered the master bedroom had been ransacked, the glass in a French door shattered and jewelry stolen. The resident reported noticing a dark colored four-door sedan with a small spare tire on the front driver’s side parked across the street from his home. The resident did not see anyone in the vehicle at the time.
The alarm was activated at 10:17 p.m.
4300 block of Commonwealth Avenue in La Cañada, a resident returned home to find several rooms had been ransacked, two doors were shattered and jewelry had been stolen from his home between Jan. 18 and Jan. 20.
Jan. 17
4100 block of Ocean View Boulevard in Montrose, the driver side front tire was slashed and both mirrors were smashed on a vehicle parked in an assigned space behind an apartment complex overnight.
Jan. 11
4500 block of Alcorn Drive in La Cañada, a woman reported returning to the home where she was house sitting and finding several rooms had been ransacked and a glass door was smashed. It was not yet determined if any property was missing.
The burglary occurred sometime between Jan. 11 and Jan. 17.
