CVTC Meets Tonight
The next Crescenta Valley Town Council general meeting is tonight, Thursday, Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library. The Crescenta Valley High School varsity CIF football team will be honored. The community is invited to come and show support for these amazing young athletes.
In addition, an update will be given on the Counties General Plan and what positive impacts this can have on the Crescenta Valley.
The meeting is held at the La Crescenta Library community room, 2809 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta.
CVCA tackles local topics
The Crescenta Valley Community Association will next meet on Thursday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. in the community room of the La Crescenta Library. Free and open to the public. Discussion welcomed on any issues affecting the Crescenta Valley.
Also on Jan. 22, the CVCA invites anyone living north of Honolulu Avenue between Lowell and Pennsylvania avenues to come to the library at 6:30 p.m. for the annual Far North Glendale Homeowners group meeting immediately preceding the CVCA meeting. Officers will be elected for 2015 and donations collected for expenses.

Gatto Hosting Town Hall Meeting
Have an opinion on an important issue? Want to learn more about this year’s legislation or suggest ideas for future bills? Assemblymember Mike Gatto is holding a “Building Responsible Government” town hall meeting on Saturday, Jan. 17 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Burbank YMCA. Open Gate Event at Rosemont Preserve
An “open gate” event takes place at the Rosemont Preserve on Sunday, Jan. 18 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. This is a chance to visit the Preserve and wander the trail. Friends of the Rosemont Preserve committee members will be available to answer questions and show this community resource Everyone is welcome; sturdy shoes advised.
This event is free to the public, all ages, no reservations required. Rain cancels event. Sorry, no pets please.

Trails and Open Space News
The community is invited to join members of Trails and Open Space on Saturday, Jan. 17 at Deukmejian Wilderness Park for the planting of a tree. The day begins at 8 a.m.; prepare to give an oak or big cone a forever home in the park. The morning will consist of watering existing trees, weeding and tree planting. This event is perfect for all ages and abilities.
