As the COVID-19 omicron variant continues to spread, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital is seeing a very high volume of sick patients in its Emergency Dept. Because of that it is asking that those who are not experiencing COVID symptoms to seek COVID testing elsewhere.
According to a statement released by the hospital, the Emergency Dept. is not equipped to offer COVID-19 testing to the public at large. For a list of COVID-19 testing locations, please visit covid19.lacounty.gov/testing.
“Thank you for helping us keep our emergency room available for those with emergent medical situations,” reads the statement. “Protect yourself from the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a face mask, social distancing, avoiding large groups and washing your hands. Most importantly, please get vaccinated and get your booster shot if you are eligible. We understand that these are very challenging times for everyone, and we appreciate your understanding.”
