Film Chronicles History Making

A film by local filmmaker John Newcombe, “Carl Howell – Witnessing History,” chronicles Howell’s time as a naval aide to the President for four of America’s leaders – John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford – when he was in the room for many of the major events of those eras. He recounts his memories in a non-political way in the film.

The screening and presentation is free and open to the public as part of the program of the Historical Society of the Crescenta Valley.

The next meeting of the Historical Society of the Crescenta Valley is Monday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Center For Spiritual Living – La Crescenta (at the intersection of Dunsmore and Santa Carlotta avenues).
