FMWD Announces “Water is Life” Student Art Contest Winners

Foothill Municipal Water District (FMWD) announced the winners of the 2023 FMWD “Water is Life” Student Art Contest. The annual art contest is open to students in Altadena, La Crescenta and La Cañada Flintridge in grades from kindergarten to high school. The art contest’s theme was stewardship and conservation of water. This means protecting water resources for future generations through conservation and education.

1st Place – Mountain Avenue Elementary – Blake Ngai

In the kindergarten through fifth grade category, the winners were

  • 1st Place – Mountain Ave. Elementary – Blake Ngai
  • 2nd Place – La Cañada Elementary – Olivia Yee
  • Honorable Mention – Paradise Canyon – Violet Perrigue
  • Honorable Mention – Palm Crest Elementary – Caris Wee
  • Honorable Mention – Paradise Canyon Elementary – Ahin Choi

In the sixth through eighth grade category, the winner was Rosemont Middle School student Isaac Lee.

In the ninth through 12th grade category, the winners were

  • 2nd Place – Crescenta Valley High School – Joshua Kim
  • Honorable Mention – Crescenta Valley High School- Sophie Ludes
  • Honorable Mention – La Cañada High School – Kayla Perez
