The University of Alaska Fairbanks honored the Class of 2026 during its 104th commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 2 at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks.Stephanie Kiang of La Cañada Flintridge received the following degree(s): Bachelor of Arts, linguistics, cum laude.

UAF conferred approximately 1,263 degrees on 1,102 students. Some students received more than one degree. The commencement ceremony included graduates from summer and fall 2025 and spring 2026.

Mathew Fernandez of La Crescenta has been named to the spring term’s Dean’s List for Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the Dean’s List.

Allen Grigorian of Glendale and Ryan Campbell and Tony Petrossian, both from Sunland, were named to the spring 2026 SNHU President’s List. The spring term runs from January to May.

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President’s List. 

Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired eight-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring and summer.

Tanushree Mondkar of La Cañada was recently elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at University of Southern California.

Mondkar is among approximately 20,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 % of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Phi Kappa Phi was founded in 1897 under the leadership of undergraduate student Marcus L. Urann who had a desire to create a different kind of honor society: one that recognized excellence in all academic disciplines. Today, the Society has chapters on more than 300 campuses in the United States and its territories. Its mission is to “cultivate a community that celebrates and advances the love of learning.”

Grace Williamson Anderson is among the Dean’s List students at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dean’s List eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

Nazareth University announced that Halo Diamond-Cole of Glendale has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2026 semester.

A student’s grade point average must be at least 3.5 or above, and they must complete 12 credit hours of graded work that semester in order to be included on the Dean’s List at Nazareth.
