The Glendale Kiwanis Club announced the recipients of its 2025 scholarship awards recognizing exceptional high school and community college students for their academic excellence, community service and leadership.
This year, scholarships are awarded to outstanding soon-to-be graduates from Clark Magnet High School, Glendale High School, Hoover High School and Glendale Community College, continuing the Kiwanis tradition of investing in the next generation of leaders.
“We are thrilled to support these talented and dedicated students as they take the next steps in their educational journeys,” said Amy Taylor, Scholarship Chair, Kiwanis. “These scholarships reflect our commitment to fostering youth development and building a stronger community.”
The 2025 Glendale Kiwanis Scholarship recipients are high school recipients:
Christina Apulian of Clark Magnet High School who plans to attend USC, majoring in biology; Sophie Dadikozian of Clark Magnet High School who plans to attend UCSB, majoring in psychological and brain sciences; Kate Enriquez of Glendale High School who plans to attend UC Berkeley, majoring in environmental science; Mia Gonzalez of Glendale High School who plans to attend UCSB, majoring in linguistics; Diana Lopez of Glendale High School who plans to attend Cal State Fullerton, majoring in business information systems; Voloyda Margaryan of Glendale High School who plans to attend USC, majoring in computer science and engineering; Rebeca Pedroza Gonzalez of Hoover High School who plans to attend Cal State Fullerton, majoring in communications; Armen Tovmasyan of Hoover High School who plans to attend USC, majoring in electrical and computer science; Sofia Valle of Hoover High School who plans to attend UCI, majoring in international studies/political science.
Community college recipients:
Taron Hakobyan who attends Glendale Community College is transferring to either USC or UCLA, majoring in computer science or linguistics or computer science.
The $2,000 scholarship is based on a competitive application process that includes academic performance, community involvement and a series of questions
and an interview. The recipients will be honored at the annual Glendale Kiwanis scholarship luncheon on May 16 at the Glendale Elks Lodge, 120 E. Colorado St., where family members, school officials and Kiwanis members will gather to celebrate their achievements.
