On March 12, Lincoln PTA Founder’s Night began with an opening social and desserts provided by the Lincoln PTA. PTA President Sherry Owens was the mistress of ceremonies for the evening.

Owens first called up fourth grader Jorge-Luis Gonzalez to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Then it was time for the presentation of awards. The Very Special Person Award was given to Hungry Howie’s; Honorary Service Awards were given to Jen Conaty, Amanda Chapman, Nora Shahbazi, Sylvia Avanosian and Nicolas James.

The theme of the evening was the Winter Olympic Games so all the volunteers were awarded a gold medal, flowers and a certificate for their hard work and dedication to Lincoln Elementary. The volunteers were also entertained with cute skits, songs and short films celebrating the honorees’ service to Lincoln.

The evening ended with the announcement of the 2014-15 slate of PTA board of officers. Leading the PTA are President Sherry Owens, 1st VP (Assemblies) Wendy Tateishi, 2nd VP (Volunteers) Marie Whitaker, 3rd VP (Fundraising) Rachelle Miller, Secretary Shannon Enright, Treasurer Renee Alvo, Financial Secretary Christie Lipscomb, Auditor Jennifer DeBoskey, Historian Cloe Jang, and Parliamentarian Jeanne Watnick.
