LCPC Presents Jazz Vespers on June 8

The Jack Lantz Sextet Band presents a Pentecost themed Jazz Vespers in the La Cañada Presbyterian Church on Sunday, June 8 at 5 p.m.

Pentecost is about the Holy Spirit descending upon Jesus’ disciples after he died. The Pentecost celebration is meant to be joyful and spirit-filled. The uplifting jazz music and readings will accent the spirit of joy and celebration.

This Jazz Vespers is presented live and in-person in the sanctuary at LCPC. In addition, it will be live-streamed at live.lacanadapc.org.

The June 8 Jazz Vespers program will feature the Jack Lantz Sextet (Lance Rickman, tenor saxophone, Jeff Kaye, trumpet and Ido Meshulam, trombone plus Zac Mathews, bass, Dave Marks, drums, and Jack on piano) improvising on a wide range of familiar gospel and jazz tunes.

“Jazz Vespers is the opportunity for people to have fun, to worship, to tap their feet and clap their hands and do all those fun things they like to do with exciting jazz music,” Lantz said.

No charge (free will offering received) and no reservations required for this hour-long event. Take part in an extraordinary celebration of joy, energy and liberation as all celebrates the spirit of Pentecost.
