The County of Los Angeles is closing the La Cañada Flintridge Library, 4545 N. Oakwood Drive, for maintenance beginning April 1. The last day of service will be Saturday, March 30. All books, even those in the storage shed, will be stored and shelves removed and new carpet and ceiling tiles installed.
Closure will last at least six weeks. The very popular semi-annual book sale in April will be postponed until a later date.
It is important that the patrons of the library do not leave any donated books during this time. There will be no staff to handle them.
The nearby La Crescenta Library will take care of any library services needed, including returning materials, picking up holds and renewing books. That address is 2809 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta; phone (818) 248-5323.
When the La Cañada Flintridge Library is set to reopen, there will be notices placed in local papers and posters placed outside the Library with an opening date.
