Community members may have noticed the demolition of the buildings at 3037-3043 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta.

This project, according to the CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act) report, is a mix use condo project. It includes 29 attached residential condominium units in six buildings and one commercial lot with mixed use of 9,500 square feet commercial and 18 residential condos in one building.

The project is currently demolishing six residential structures and one commercial building to make way for the new development.

The project was presented to the Land Use Committee in January 2017 when Sean Mo, the architect and developer of the then-proposed project, said he had responded to the concerns of the public regarding oak trees.

Responding to concerns previously raised, Mo had explained the changes made included preserving all three oak trees.

“Even though we were okayed to tear them down, we’ll be keeping them and incorporating them into the landscaping at the rear of the property,” he said at the 2017 meeting.

The project was approved in 2021.
