The Los Angeles Fire Dept. is reporting that two of its firefighters sustained minor injuries today when their apparatus was involved in a vehicle accident in the 8200 block of Foothill Boulevard in Sunland while responding to a structure fire.

Both firefighters were transported to a local hospital and are being evaluated by medical personnel. No members of the public were injured in the accident. The identities of the injured firefighters are being withheld pending notification of their families. 

The department asks that the media and the public respect the privacy of the members and their families at this time. The Los Angeles Fire Dept. will provide further updates as additional information becomes available. The Los Angeles Police Dept. is investigating the accident.
